My Experience

I’m a qualified Speech and Language Therapist with over 8 years experience working with children with a wide range of communication difficulties. I have worked for school, NHS and private therapy providers in and around Leeds. I have skill and experience with most evidence-based speech and language approaches.

Who I work with

I’m passionate about supporting children to develop and increase their communication skills. I can help your child with understanding and using words and sentences, overcoming Selective Mutism, developing early communication and social skills, and speaking clearly. I am particularly skilled in working with children with Speech Sound Disorders and Developmental Language Disorder (DLD).

I provide evidence-based speech and language therapy. This means that I choose the most suitable therapy approach based on a combination of:

research evidence
professional clinical experience
the individual’s needs and preferences

A Focus on Intervention

So many of our speech and language therapy services are now limited to assessment and target-setting! I hope to provide children and their families with meaningful, effective, and personalised speech and language intervention.

Home and School Visits

I can provide therapy sessions and informal assessment at your home or your child’s educational setting, in Leeds and nearby. Please note that I do not provide written reports or support plans at the moment.

Working Together

Throughout each therapy session, I will explain what I’m doing and give the adult supported opportunities to lead activities. I will discuss progress and aims with you and your child, and can provide verbal or emailed feedback from school visits.

Fees

I charge £40 per 30-minute therapy session, plus extra to cover travel time and costs when travelling over 10km from Leeds, LS13. Feel free to contact me with your postcode to get a quote.
